An apostille certifies the origin of and signature on the document, as well as those of its sworn translation.<\/strong><\/mark> <a href=\"..\/comment-faire-reconnaitre-mon-etat-civil-a-letranger\/\">Our article on apostilles<\/a> explains in detail the procedure for obtaining an apostille.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Legalization by the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs<\/strong>:  This formality attests to the authenticity of an official document so that it can be recognized in a foreign country.  This process, supervised by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.diplomatie.gouv.fr\/fr\/services-aux-francais\/legalisation-1499\/article\/mes-documents-relevent-ils-de-la-legalisation-de-l-apostille-ou-d-une-dispense\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs<\/a>, mainly concerns countries that do not accept apostilles.
